About me

Hello! My name is Jillian O'Connell. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from Saint Joseph's University in December '24. I grew up going to Universal Studios in Orlando and Walt Disney World. Instead of playing Heads Up, like most people, while waiting in line for rides and attractions, I would study the innerworkings of the rides themselves and the roles that technology played. I was specifically drawn to how technology and code played a role in keeping every aspect of the ride working and synched together, and how each car is timed to leave the station as another one is returning to unload. This led to me pursuing a computer science degree while researching and learning about the use of technology in rides and themed entertainment as a whole. I designed my honors capstone project in a way to allow me to gain more skills applicable to this field. I look forward to pursuing a career in themed entertainment.
